About Dr. Tufte
Optometrist
Dr. Tufte
Dr. Mark Tufte brings a lifetime of experience to Lee Eyecare Center. His path to optometry began at the University of North Dakota, where he studied chemical engineering, before he earned a BS and MS in Physiological Optics and his Doctor of Optometry, cum laude, from The Ohio State University.
He spent his career building optometry and optical departments alongside ophthalmology practices, founded the Fargo Contact Lens Center, and opened a series of Fargo clinics — EYES on 42nd, EYES on 43rd, and EYES on Broadway — before expanding Eyes on 45th. Along the way, he became a trusted voice in the field: the major contact lens manufacturers — Johnson & Johnson Acuvue, Bausch & Lomb, Alcon, and CooperVision — sought him out as a consultant, and Alcon and Allergan invited him to speak to fellow eye doctors. In 2013, readers of the InForum named him the Best Eye Doctor in the Red River Valley's inaugural "Best of" contest.
Across his career, Dr. Tufte has performed hundreds of thousands of individual eye exams, and today he brings that same depth of experience to patients here in Mesa, Arizona.
