Our Optical Services

The doctors at Lee Eyecare Center are primary health care providers who examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures as well as diagnose related systemic conditions.

Comprehensive Vision Exam

A comprehensive eye examination consists of a number of tests and procedures to assess and evaluate the function and health of the eyes and visual system. It includes screening tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other ocular diseases. We can identify the presence of other ocular or systemic conditions that may exist without symptoms.

We also incorporate computerized technology to assist us with the evaluation of your spectacle prescriptions, peripheral vision, intraocular pressure and eye health. We utilize computerized examination instruments to supplement rather than replace personalized medical care.

Pediatric Vision Exams

Eye examinations for children are extremely important because it is estimated that 25% of school-aged children have vision problems. Early identification of a child’s vision problem is crucial because, if left untreated, some childhood vision problems can cause permanent vision loss. The pediatric eye and vision examination includes assessment of:

  1. Visual acuity, which is largely dependent upon refractive status and eye health
  2. Visual efficiency skills, representing eye focusing, teaming and tracking skills
  3. Visual information processing, representing the ability to recognize and discriminate visual stimuli and to interpret them correctly based upon previous experience
The vision screenings done at the school only test for visual acuity and often fail to detect those conditions that would be expected to affect learning. We encourage parents and caregivers on early detection and treatment to provide the very best opportunity to correct the vision problems the child may have.

Medical Eye Exams

Lee Eyecare Center is a primary eye care clinic that sees many cases of ocular emergencies such as:
  • Keratis (commonly related to contact lens use)
  • Infections
  • Conjunctivitis (“pink eye”)
  • Iritis
  • Eye injuries
Our doctors are board certified and highly trained to medically treat and manage these conditions. It is our service to you to see ocular emergencies as they come into the office. We do accept major medical insurances as well as Medicare and Medicaid.

Contact Lens Fittings and Evaluations

The majority of our patients wear contact lenses in addition to their eyeglasses. It is very important to our contact lens practice to successfully prescribe the most optimal contact lenses for your individual needs, whether you use them for sports, work or social wear.

The contact lens examination will involve a comprehensive eye examination, a thorough history of your specific contact lens needs and a number of follow-up visits so that we can confirm the lenses are fitting your eyes properly and that your eyes are able to tolerate contact lens wear. In many cases, trial lenses will be used to verify the contact lens selection.
